Asbestos Inspections & Abatement:
CCI has been providing inspection and abatement
services in the state of Alaska since 1996. Asbestos inspections are performed
by Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) trained/certified inspectors
who are familiar with commercial, industrial and residential facilities. Our
firm views certification and education as critical components in staying ahead
of continuously changing regulatory requirements.

|
Our AHERA inspectors complete all inspections/reports to
comply with all applicable federal, state and local regulations. These
regulations include: |
|
•
40 CFR Part 61 – NESHAP Asbestos
Regulations
•
40 CFR Part 763 – Toxic and Hazardous
Substances Control: Asbestos
•

AHERA protocol determines the number of samples
of each material to be collected, depending on its category and amount of
material present. The goal of AHERA is to ensure statistically reliable data and
it accomplishes this by requiring or suggesting a minimum number of samples to
be collected, and in some cases, by using random sampling techniques to
determine sampling locations. However, in every case, AHERA relies on the
judgment of the inspectors who are experienced in AHERA methodology and the type
of facilities being inspected. Our inspectors closely follow all AHERA
guidelines in conducting inspections. All asbestos samples are delivered to labs
accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP)
for asbestos.
Upon
completion of an asbestos inspection, CCI is also capable of providing
trained/certified asbestos abatement technicians to implement the abatement of
asbestos containing material (ACM). Our firm is experienced in all Classes of
friable and non-friable removal. Throughout abatement activities our workers are
experienced in the proper bagging and tagging of ACM for disposal. Additionally,
CCI performs personal monitoring for personnel safety and area monitoring for
the environment throughout every abatement project. CCI has been involved in the
abatement of ARRC facilities in Seward, Anchorage and Fairbanks.
Asbestos survey and abatement services are provided by CCI, Inc. We are a
full service asbestos survey, abatement, and removal contractor that is staffed
by highly trained and experienced personnel. Surveys and abatement
services have been conducted for the Federal Aviation Administration, United
States Coast Guard, Alaska Railroad, Phillips/ARCO Alaska, and BP Exploration at
production facilities, power stations, office complexes, residential camps and
maintenance facilities on Alaska's North Slope and remote areas throughout the
State.
